Dental veneer installation
Veneers (dental coverings) are ceramic plates installed on the teeth to hide aesthetic imperfections like irregular shapes or color. This technique is one of the most popular in aesthetic dentistry as it does not require any surgical intervention or long-term treatment.
When you install veneers, you solve several issues related to the beauty of the dental arch and a harmonious smile.
Dentists recommend restoring teeth with porcelain veneers in case of the following pathologies:
— large dental gaps;
— tooth crown chipping;
— teeth shape low aesthetics;
— tooth enamel fissure;
— changes in teeth color and shape, occurring after root canal treatment;
— tooth enamel yellowing and darkening;
— fillings low aesthetics.
You can order:
Ceramic (porcelain) veneers. The plates are installed on the outside of the teeth and never change color even if patients often drink tea, coffee, or other products containing dyes. Porcelain plates are strong and durable.
Composite veneers. These veneers do not require substantial tooth enamel grinding when installed. Only one session is required to install these veneers. However, like natural teeth, composite plates are prone to staining with food dyes.
Lumineers. These plates are advisable in situations when no hard enamel grinding is necessary. They are porcelain caps enveloping the tooth from all sides or incomplete structures attached to the tooth only on one side. Lumineers do not require any specific care routines and can last for up to 20 years.
Ceramic (vinyl) plates are one of the most common types. As a rule, they are made from zirconium dioxide and special medical porcelain. These plates are about 0.3 to 0.5 mm thick. They are highly resistant to chewing loads and coloring food agents. Therefore, they are successfully used for prosthetics purposes even in very difficult clinical situations on the front and back teeth.
Composite veneers are an inexpensive alternative to their ceramic counterparts. Their main advantage is a quick manufacturing procedure. As medical practice shows, veneers of this type are less durable and have a very short life cycle, and therefore, are extremely rarely used.
